all right okay. great to have you again and people who are just joining us we have this is part three of this video interview series in part one we’ve been speaking with Abhinav about his interview experience at is be from which he has already received movement in part two of the series we spoke about NYU stone and on this part we are going to speak about Michigan Ross School of Business and now did have enough interview there and what was his experience like. Veda Manasa could you quickly introduce yourself and landing then we will jump into speaking about an interview experience right. I penis in the Indian media industry working in Mumbai and I’m looking at an NBA right now transition into a popular strategy role in the antenna industry also mother role as well that I might be interested in. is an option for us but it is definitely. for round one I thought that we had tt Mumbai but because I applied to this time there was nobody I know if I needed to attend it I would have had to travel to Beijing or Tokyo one of those two places and my engagements at work.
I when I’m going to sleep and yeah laughter steam pumper an x-ray for several years now in brown Wadena they gave the option to be able to come and do that in different cities education has been and you know the thing is that if such exercise is not between India and if you’re in Indian applicant then you should attend it it’s not different in every. if you don’t have option like up enough then it’s okay to skip because you know not everyone can travel to Japan or lake or some other exotic country to do these things. we will restrict ourselves to speaking about the your interview experience okay. could you give your overall impressions about the interview right very relaxed was it special w at all like other interviews that I had it was more about understanding me and my motivations. in fact the I W me he was 2004 lmost and he made it clear to me in the first two three minutes is not going to be a stressful of you then I can be totally relaxed about it and he just wanted to know me better. that was the agenda setting for the interview. to say was done in the first two three minutes and and that really puts me in the fashion that he was asking me during the interview that it went on for about 25 to 40 minutes it was a very conversational very Xperia T not not as an asking me about specific things in just being interested in died but he gave me a lot of opportunity to express myself in to tell my whole story my words it’s good right. they were not off behavioral questions. it started with my current role and my experience in the media industry what all projects have I walked on and what are the aspects of business that I handle what are helping my key achievements what is that one occasion when I think you as well as I thought I should have and what did I learn from it. there was I think about 15 minutes was spent on a lot of behavioral questions around my current experience why Ross. why an NDA at this stage in your life and why was particularly and. the second part of the interview was that. that’s where and after that the last day 15 subject was it was totally conversational it was it was about his own experience and we had a very fleeting transition about you know what kind of a school is Ross and what Ross has done for him and more things to study in the u.s. in a top us be school and his entire journey after graduating in Ross. you know the last 10 15 minutes were totally there was no pattern to it it was like the only option things to ask behavioral questions he differentiator for example on the last part that we were speaking with you on my user on and seven very few deliberate questions when it comes to nos they asked we will ask you a lot of behavioral questions if you’re interviewing with Kellogg again they will switch to speaking a lot about leadership and teamwork we have can also chip in a little bit now here he’s also interviewed with Kellogg’s we can share those insights with you. what and you’ve been applying to all this big schools and I used an extra which are pleased on a big city but Michigan Ross is not. how do you defend virus right. so then I was doing my search for Ross. one of the things that stands out about the school as experiential learning and one of the things that I did was to explain why I feel experiential learning is very important to me. their experiential learning you know aspect per minute sort of permeates all aspects of Ross. it’s not just the one thing that is called map that everyone knows about it which is basically like an internship for the internship. that’s something like you know Ross is most known for. that is of course I mean it’s like the go to a loss interview and we’ll talk about map even the interview I guess you find it strange but the fact is that everyone talks about the forces which had that experience in learning you know woven into them then I have also talked about why how Ross has very good resources from my specific industry even though it is not based in LA or you know which are the media hubs but still you know the space that I want to enter there there is a lot of scope for that involves there are many students interested in it and that is something that I got out of the research that I did for also here for those I talk to something like ten students current students. they told me my media take is a growing interest area of course that has not traditionally been a strength philosophy. to you know I got a lot of that into the conversation that I had with interviewer. I any one thing that I really want to was to show him that I’m really kicked about it was. I talked to this you know this person he told me this when I talk to that person he told me this different aspect that’s why I clean that I can do this thing at Ross. a lot of you know what he what he call it random name-calling during the w is to show that is which value a lot if you show that you have done adequate research on the school the best ways to do it this is that if you speak about. in terms of any broad questions that that were are star any not area that you have missed. far speaking about I’m saying. the first ten minutes were about behavioral questions the second you know ten minutes spell would be around the you know why Ross and why and da stop Li but the last ten fifteen minutes I like I was saying I had a freewheeling conversation and also it gave me okay no opportunity to shine in front of the interview I tell about and in my case I was very lucky that. he asked me about what is that one person that you look up and I said something which is I mean a very difficult space to get into because if you are saying that you your role model is the man of the last century then that is very slippery slope to be on but also many you know associations with Gandhi and allure of cambian down the related work and we connected a lot in that. that can happen that might not happen in interview but in my case because I connected with the interviewer laughs 10-15 minutes where I just totally opened up. so that is something that definitely people can be prepared for I mean if you find that there is you know there is something that the interviewer is interested in and you know if you can if you also have an element in your own life which is similar to that we should definitely mentioned an interview strategy or application strategy just for our viewers video. there now has received interview advice from a bunch of father this later now there it is slowly there. any parting tips and this these points. the more the number of hours that you put in to finding more about the schools that you want to go to the more it will benefit you in the application as well as the interview. again you know very different from the usual school application that you would find in India or you know when we only follow the schools you know in India that these USB schools are looking at candidates were really kicked about this already interested and have genuine interests have done the research they know what to expect. if you go in with adequate research it just position positions you better in the application of the intern Oh perfect I had a crate six months seven months you have seven Frankie apart from the same thing and the tip zombie interview just to have someone as experienced as you are just just as a sounding board when I’m sort of not feeling very sure about my own prospects and I have doubts and everyone in in the preschool application journey has those days and has those moments and to have someone like you who believes who believed in me and who believes in me is very comforting and I can’t thank you we need to reach out with any any sort of public school
